Reminder: Virtual Strike Planning Calls

June 5, 2008

The Kids Are Priority One Coalition is convening two conference calls to start planning for the virtual strike that we will hold this fall:
  • Thursday (today), June 5 at 7 PM
  • Friday, June 6 at 1:30 PM
The call-in number is (906) 481-2110. If for some reason that number is busy, dial (218) 862-6100. With either number, the passcode is: 281789#. (Note: You will be billed for a long-distance call unless you have unlimited long-distance service.)

Since both calls will include a discussion of the same agenda items (see below), please plan on participating in only one of the calls:
  • planning structure (e.g., regional planning teams with a representative who sits on a statewide Planning Committee)
  • length of the virtual strike (1 day? a week?)
  • our message(s)
  • outreach strategies (how we get the word out)
  • written materials needed (flyers, etc.)
  • Other concerns/questions/ideas
  • next steps
Kim Friedman, Kids Are Priority One's Organizing Director, will facilitate both calls. Following both calls, she will send out a summary of the discussions. If the two calls result in differing recommendations, a core team will make the final decisions, with the buck stopping with the six Kids Are Priority One lead organizations.
